Quick Fixes

Frequently Encountered Solutions

macOS: "App cannot be opened / Unidentified Developer"

Because test builds are not Apple-notarized, macOS Gatekeeper blocks direct double-clicking. To open: Open Finder → Applications, Right-Click (or Control-Click) AUTOMATA, and choose Open, then confirm Open. You only need to do this once.

Windows SmartScreen: "Windows protected your PC"

Click the link that says More info in the blue banner, then click Run anyway to complete installation.

Google Sign-In: "Fix Drive Access / Cannot list files"

When signing in with Google in Chrome, you must check the box: "See, edit, create, and delete all of your Google Drive files". If you skipped it, click Fix Drive Access in Google on the sign-in screen, revoke the old token, and re-authenticate with the box checked.

Word Document Table Margins Overflow

AUTOMATA tables are budgeted for 6.5-inch printable widths (standard 1-inch margins). If opening in Google Docs, switch your view mode to View → Paginated mode to render proper page widths.

Student Caseload Row Not Found

Verify that the student name or Student ID on your Google Sheet matches the case name or ID in AUTOMATA. If columns share identical header names, rename duplicate headers on your sheet.
